EKG of the Week – Week 10 ANSWERS
Good Morning!
A CODE STEMI was called on all of these EKGs.
EKG 1 is an Inferolateral STEMI (STE in II, III, aVF and V5/6)
EKG 2 is a Lateral STEMI
It’s actually from an 80 yo F with crushing substernal chest pain, diaphoresis and dynamic EKG changes. Dr. Azir was watching the Inferior leads elevate over multiple EKGs and called a CODE STEMI. The cardiology team came down and took the patient to the cath lab. From the cath report, they found an occluded proximal RCA that was successfully stented. Be careful trusting the read at the top!
Good work having a high index of suspicion, unnamed resident!
