Week #28: JOURNAL CLUB

- This week grand rounds will be held off site, but it will be held during NORMAL GRAND ROUNDS hours (1000-1500). The only exemptions for journal club/wellness would be if you are on an out-of-town rotation or working nights.
- We will be doing some wellness activities and journal club.
  - Time: 1000-1500
  - Location: USO Warrior and Family Support Center (same location as our wellness retreat) 3138 Rawley Chambers, San Antonio, TX 78234
Journal Club Goals and Expectations
- Find your group below and the assigned material to review.
- This journal club will be similar to last quarter’s in that everyone will read one paper, and each group will then read one paper unique to their own groups. We will then have a large group discussion covering the paper assigned to everyone, and then go through our standard presentation for the papers assigned to individual groups.
- Projected Schedule:
  - 1000-1030: Arrival/split into groups
  - 1030-1130: Small group discussion
  - 1130-1300: Large group discussion
  - 1300 onward: Mentor family time/lunch
- PGY Level Assignment/Goals
  - EM1: Big overview of the paper, and if applicable epidemiology/definitions/diagnosis/workup and PICO (if original study)
  - EM2: Key takeaways, what to focus on, and if applicable recommendations/treatments
  - EM3: How is this going to change your practice?
